Modo Practice Continued

Finished the digital tutor tutorial on Introduction to Modeling in Modo yesterday. I'm very happy with the results, plus I feel a lot more confident in Modo now! I did not use any of the provided reference or textures for this piece, so other than the concept it is all mine. Rendering is by Diego Aguilar.

I'm now starting on Tor Frick's Modelling a Transport Vehicle in Modo tutorial which I purchased awhile ago. It's for more advanced users so it'll be a test to see if I can complete it.

First day in Modo

Today was my first day in Modo! A lot of my favorite artists use it, so I'm very excited. It has a lot of things Maya does, so when I get use to it it'll be very cool, but right now I'm still learning and am super slow.
For now I am following tutorials through Digital Tutor. I made this piece using one of their tutorials to go through the modelling, UVing, texturing and rendering pipeline.

March Update

Hi all!
Sorry for my inactivity. The last few months have been a whirlwind. In starting back at University, we have been setting up our own business, which is an architectural and construction visualisation company. The plan was to finish the Windsor project, which I have been keeping you updated with here, then create a showreel. After that we had another test project lined up, and then after about 6 months, we planned to start trying to get clients.
Instead, we got two clients (and more are interested) in week three. Because of this, the Windsor project has been pretty much abandoned at this point. I did finish all the modelling, and was in the process of clearing up the scene for renders when we got the two projects. I won't go into too much detail about the work in this blog post, but both are pretty big deals! One is a paid job, so we can buy commercial licenses for our work. While the other is a free job.
Hopefully I'll be able to share some of this work with you guys soon!
The two jobs finished last week, so this weekend I am resting before getting back into it. Next week we will be setting up meetings with new clients, plus catching up on some work we haven't had time for (such as the Windsor). I'm also going to be learning Modo next week as we will be using it for modelling now.
In the meantime, you can check out the website for my new studio, Vital Illusions! I set the website up myself, so am looking forward to starting to advertise it!
